Wisdom for the Day - Standing Strong

Day 002 You Are Not Forgotten | Isaiah 49:16

Rick Yuhas Season 3 Episode 2

Send us a text

When the room goes quiet and the calendar stays open, doubt gets loud. We take a steady breath together and sit with Isaiah’s promise: “See, I have written your name on the palms of my hands.” Not penciled in. Not provisional. Your name, held where it can’t be forgotten, even when life feels stalled and everyone else seems to be moving ahead.

We talk about the ache of being overlooked and the stories our hearts tell when doors stay shut and messages go unanswered. Then we counter those stories with clear truths: silence isn’t absence, delay isn’t denial, and unseen doesn’t mean unloved. We reflect on the hidden work God does in the waiting—strengthening roots, shaping character, and anchoring identity beyond shifting moods or metrics. A short, honest prayer gives language to weary souls, asking for faith when feelings wobble and for trust that holds in the quiet.

From there, we turn outward. Sometimes the way God reminds us we’re seen is by using us to help someone else feel seen. We invite you to send one message or make one call to a person who might be carrying the weight of invisibility. That small act can reset a day—and often echoes back as encouragement for your own heart.

SPEAKER_00:

Welcome to Wisdom for the Day. In a world that keeps shifting, this is where we return to what holds us steady. Let's begin today grounded, focused, and standing strong. Today is day two, You Are Not Forgotten, from Isaiah chapter 49, verse 16 from the New Living Translation. See, I have written your name on the palms of my hands. If we're being honest, feeling forgotten cuts deep. It's one thing to be busy or alone for a moment. It's another thing to feel like life's moving forward without you while you're standing still, watching everybody else get their turn. Maybe you've felt that. I know I have. You watch doors open for people, prayers seem to get answered for everyone but you. Messages go unanswered, invitations stop coming, and somewhere in that quiet a dangerous thought starts to whisper. Did God forget about me too? Well, Isaiah shuts that down immediately. God says he has written your name on the palms of his hands. Not penciled in, not scribbled in somewhere. It's not something that he might lose track of. Silence doesn't mean absence. Delay doesn't mean denial. And just because you can't see what God is doing doesn't mean he isn't doing anything. Some of the deepest work that God does happens behind the scenes, in the waiting, in the quiet, in the moments where you're tempted to believe that you don't matter anymore. But you do. Maybe people walked away. Maybe somebody failed to see your value. Maybe you were overlooked, passed over, or underestimated. God was not confused. God was not distracted. God was not late. He knows your struggles. He knows the prayers you've whispered when no one else was listening. He knows the tears you wiped away before anybody noticed. Standing strong in your identity means choosing to believe what God says over what your feelings try to convince you of. And God is very clear about this. You are seen, remembered, and held by Him. You are not forgotten. Pray with me. Lord God, thank you for never leaving me and never forgetting me. When I feel overlooked or invisible, strengthen my faith. Remind me daily that I'm seen, known, and deeply loved by you. Help me to trust you even in the waiting. In Jesus' name, amen. Now today, I want you to think about somebody who you might feel forgotten. Maybe they don't say it out loud, but you know. Send a message, make a call, let them know they matter. Sometimes God reminds us that we're seen by using us to help someone else feel seen too. Now tomorrow, we keep standing, one day at a time. See ya.
