SPEAKER_00:

Welcome to Wisdom for the Day, your daily source for spiritual refreshment and guidance. I'm Rick. Join me as I dive into God's Word to find clarity and strength for life's challenges. Let me help you embrace each day with faith and wisdom. Ready to feel inspired? Let's get started. Today is day 18. A new, new hope. Reading from 1 Peter chapter 1, verse 3 from the New Living Translation. He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Let me ask you something. Are you feeling without hope? It's easy to lose hope in struggles of everyday life. Months of unemployment? Been there. Years of battling illness? Kind of been there. Constant family arguments? Been there. Or a long prison sentence can drain our hope and leave us feeling lost about the future. In the face of these hardships, the Apostle Peter speaks of hope. Jesus has risen from the dead. Well, this doesn't mean that all of our suffering will vanish. Just as Jesus' sufferings led to resurrection, so too will our trials be followed by glory. Through Jesus, God has given believers a living hope. Now we often place our hope in things that can't sustain us, like a new job, more education, or even a new year. But Jesus isn't lifeless, he is alive. And in him we have an inheritance and a constant source of strength, because our hope comes from someone who's conquered death and is eternally alive. The best news of all is that God has given us true hope. We're not trapped by our sins or circumstances. Jesus has the power to take our dying expectations and replace them with a living, vibrant hope. Are you living with hope in Christ? Through his strength, you can. Let's pray. Living Father God, we praise you for the gift of hope. May the life of the risen Christ inspire us to hope and inspire us to confidence today, even in the middle of our struggles. In Jesus' precious name I pray. Amen. Well, that's all for today. But I'll be back tomorrow with more of God's Word. To listen to past episodes, go to wisdomforthey.org.
