See Ya!
Welcome to Wisdom for the Day. In a world that keeps shifting, this is where we return to what holds us steady. Let's begin today grounded, focused, and standing strong. Today is day twenty-three. You are secure in Christ. From John chapter 10, verse 28 and 29, from the New Living Translation. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. There's something deeply comforting about knowing you're held, especially in a world that feels unstable. Jesus doesn't speak in maybes or possibilities here, he speaks with certainty. He says that you're secure in his hands, and nothing has the power to take you away from him. Just make sure you realize that that doesn't mean you can't leave. Of course, that is a devotion for another day. But standing strong in your identity means learning to rest in that security. If I'm honest though, fear has a way of creeping in when life feels unpredictable. Fear of failure, fear of falling short, fear of somehow losing what God has given. But this passage reminds me that my relationship with Christ isn't held together by my consistency, it's held together by his faithfulness. Although we must strive for holiness. We can't turn our back on him. But we can definitely reject him. Jesus doesn't say you hold on to him. Now that changes everything. It means your worst days don't cancel his grip. Your doubts don't overpower his strength. Even when you feel weak or distracted or unsure, you're still firmly held by the shepherd who knows you by name. Now that kind of security doesn't make us careless, it makes us confident. When you know you're safe, you stop living in survival mode. You start living with courage. You can take steps of faith. You can face hard conversations. You can walk forward without constantly looking over your shoulder. Life will still have uncertainty, but your place in Christ never does unless you want it to. Just remember, your faith in Christ, your belief in him, is not a license to just go and sin. You still have to strive for holiness. You still have to obey his commands. Believing in Christ means doing what he says. It's not just a brain thing where, well, I believe you lived and now I'm headed straight for heaven. It's not what I'm trying to say here. God holds on to you securely. How hard are you holding on? Let's pray. Jesus, thank you for holding me securely. When fear tries to shake my confidence, remind me that I'm safe in your hands. Help me to live with peace, knowing that nothing can separate me from you. In Jesus' name, amen. Today, write down John 10, 28 through 29 and put it somewhere whether you're going to see it a lot. And every time you notice it, pause and thank God for the security that you have in Christ. Okay? See you tomorrow.
